I was sad to have to replace my original stainless steel pots and pans when I got the induction cooker and risked using this set as a replacement not sure I would like it. Don't worry, this set is great. Somehow I like this set even more - the hollow lid and pot handles stay cooler than the solid ones in my original set when used over a wood stove. (The handles stay dead cold on an induction hob.) The bottom is very dense and heats up well. Pots with short handles work well as steamers for melting butter, which is especially important if you're cooking with wood and can't easily control the temperature. The pots share lids, which is handy - there are three lid sizes on all six pots, making it easy to choose the right size. The pans' flat, wide shape provides enough surface area to work with any heat source and makes it easy to access food for stirring. After soaking, they can be removed with a plastic brush and Dr. Thoroughly clean Bronner's soap. Win, win, win. My only question is pretty silly - at the bottom of the pots they show symbols for all the cooking methods they use. What the heck is a halogen? LAUGH OUT LOUD
