More durable than I thought and combined with the Stanwood Needlecraft .Ball Winder, it's great! Actually, I learned a few things about yarn. I spun the yarn myself. You know, the old fashioned way - if you have a husband/partner or, like me, yarn on your legs?!. First off, I found that the wooden screen combined with the Ball Winder wound my yarn much more loosely than if I had done it by hand. When I asked an experienced knitter, she said it was the best for knitting and went for the project (I'm pretending to be a beginner!..). Initially, in my enthusiasm for two items, I started collecting most of my stash obsessively. I was then told that it is best not to wind the yarn until you are ready to start your project because even though the winding is loose, the winding will still stretch the yarn. . I am writing all of this because it is valuable to others. I'm on a steep learning curve. But the point. great products!
