I didn't want to use this (M-8S) at first. It was a brand I had never heard of, they were cheap and if they were junk I would have had to fix my wall. As soon as they hit my wall, I thought my fears were confirmed - they sounded terrible on the old receiver; the bass was muddy and lacked richness. I decided to try again with a more powerful receiver. That was what mattered. Suddenly the speakers came alive and I was amazed by the performance. While the 8-inch woofers didn't produce the mid-range sound I wanted, they were still loud enough and the sub struggled to keep up, but once the receiver and subwoofer crossovers were adjusted, it sounded great. I dare say impressive. If you are on a budget these are perfect. My recommendation is to have a high powered receiver/amplifier to power these speakers (at least 75 watts into 8 ohms) and caulk/foam/flex seal where the drywall meets the counter to avoid reverberation. Also, the mounting levers are plastic, so don't over-tighten them; They have a false sense that they need to be pulled up more than they should.
