The insert fits perfectly in the trunk. It had a crease due to delivery, but over time it went away on its own and now you can hardly see it. It's a very strong material, but you can still easily lift it to get to the bottom of the trunk if you need it. It also tends to hold things in place in the trunk so they don't move.
