Although I have done cake decorating, I purchased these for my soapmaking. They aren't so bulky/heavy that they are difficult to use, but they are sturdy enough that they don't bend, and the raised oval shape in the center makes it easy to grip them as I am dragging them along my soap.One of them had an end that was rather rough, so I had to sand that down, but that didn't affect the patterned edges. I love how there are 8 designs - 2 on each piece for variety.They are very easy to clean. I just use hot water and a dishcloth. I don't use a dishwasher so I don't know how they would do in there.The designs that they add are nice and crisp, clean lines and that is what is important to me. I am happy with this purchase and I would recommend these.
