My 5.5kg dachshund fits comfortably in this stretcher. There is enough room for another dachshund if I get another one. The bottom insert is soft but still fits into a blanket so he can cover his head. It opens up at the top if you want to take it out or in, but there's another vented opening on the front for it to get in or out of. I will also use this stroller as a car seat. The seat belt held him in place and he seemed to ride normally. I will be using this carrier to take to shops and businesses. I just received it but it looks very sturdy. I will update if not.
