A few years ago one of our kids gave us a set of 3 of these knives for Christmas. We love them so much I recently bought three more. They are sharp and seem to hold their edge very well. They have plastic handles which means they can be washed in the dishwasher. When I saw that they came with plastic candles I was concerned how well they would last. In fact, they held up very well. I didn't think a blade sheath would be worth it. But my wife likes to take it with her when she visits one of our adult children and has to help in the kitchen. The blade's lid allows her to toss it in a bag with everything she needs without worrying about something piercing it. And she always has one of her favorite knives with her.
