It's been more than a year since I started using the cooler, and the computer continues to function normally at least 12 hours per day, seven days a week. Even in my nearly open Thermaltake View 71 chassis, the cooler operates with no audible noise (of course, this requires the appropriate settings to be made in the BIOS). The temperature of my 9900KF never goes above 60 degrees, even when it is being put through its paces in demanding games, and it makes no audible noise all. When playing demanding games, the temperature can occasionally rise to little beyond 70 degrees Fahrenheit; however, the noise coming from the cooler is usually inaudible due to the noise coming from the video card cooler:) One of the drawbacks is that there are no clamping springs used in the process of attaching components to the motherboard. As a consequence of this, the cooler was forced against the processor in an uneven manner. After putting in an IceHammer IH-4350B mount with springs, I found that it worked wonderfully. In addition, the design of the screws used to attach the metal pieces to the pump is flawed. Two plates are attached to the pump by means of two screws that are screwed into the plastic casing of the pump; however, the screws are not screwed very well. The entirety of the load is transferred parallel to these cogs, which causes the plastic to be torn away from them. When I changed out the mount that was attached to the motherboard, I had to tighten these screws since, under strain, they had become slightly loose. Connecting the cooler to a 3-pin connector or operating in DC mode rather than PWM is something else that I do not advocate. In DC mode, the cooler will create a greater amount of noise regardless of the voltage choices. Secondly, after a certain amount of time, the small fan that is attached to the pump will suddenly stop working on its own. Because of this, the connection solely utilizes PWM. Overall, it's a fine cooler, and if it weren't for the terrible oversights in its design, it would be a great thing. However, those oversights are what hold it back from being amazing.
