In my case I needed to install two SSDs in a 3.5" drive bay of a small server. The SATA and power cables are already in place and coming from the RAID controller. With this adapter, the two SSDs are too close together to use the existing (combo) SATA/power connectors. In a more typical configuration, where you can use the included cables, this is not a problem. installed two SSDs and the entire assembly snapped into the Dell drive carrier, the carrier was uneven due to the adapter being bent. With a regular 3.5" drive in the bracket, everything is fine. With this in the holder, it is not straight and will not slip into the compartment. In general, this adapter has its uses and works in some scenarios, but it is not a universal adapter.
