I have a car seat in both our cars for my 5lb dog. It came with a nylon leash with plastic snaps. It just didn't seem safe or reliable and I was concerned about its ability to last for long periods and function in an emergency. I decided to update this connector and got this one. It works perfectly! My SUV has latches on the back of the back seat where your car seat is installed. I attached it to the latch system and then threaded it through the headrest and it snapped straight into place. The strap is strong, the clasps are solid, and I feel a lot better with it attached than with just a cheap nylon strap. . We got another one for our other car and were able to connect it to the latching system between the seat and route it up and around the headrest. The adjustable length made it easy to use in both of our machines. It seems like it's going to be a very long time coming and we all feel better about our dogs safety when it's connected. She is still comfortable in her car seat and we have peace of mind that she is buckled in securely.
