These charcoal shoe deodorant bags absorb shoe odor well . But they don't eliminate the source of the smell. The only way to get rid of the source of the smell is to thoroughly kill the nasty bacteria on your shoe inserts. There are several products on the market for this. I think these charcoal bags are worth it, but they must be used in conjunction with proper shoe insert cleaning. I put two of these bags in my sneakers right after wearing them and they absorb odors well. I really hate wearing socks with sneakers so my Converse All-Stars tend to be a little naughty. But I found I could deal with it by eliminating the nasty bacteria and using charcoal bags. Then I can continue walking barefoot in my fresh-smelling Converse sneakers. ;-)
