Works great, looks solid. Power two 12V devices and charge your phone/iPad.

My 2010 Prius has a 12 volt outlet in the front and one under the armrest. It also has a USB port under the armrest, but its amperage is too low to charge an iPad. That's why I used a 12V to USB charger for my devices. Since I also have a DVR and radar detector, I used an old RadioShack 12-VY splitter (remember those?). The front was a mess with wires, and they often got lost. I wanted something more reliable and this one looked like it had better reviews. After receiving it, I agree. It looks well built and offers two 12V ports on the adjustable end, as well as two USB ports. I can connect everything and still have a free USB port. The manual says the USB ports have a total current of 3.1 amps (I think). Small devices work well with 500mA, but larger phones and tablets require 2.1. This device should charge your iPad and your phone at the same time. However, I believe that when the iPad is working (e.g. a card) it still slowly dies when powered, while the 2.1 does not. Chargers I use on my desk. This leads me to think that the current output isn't as high as they state. (The radar detector I have adds a USB connector to the 12V socket and works similarly, but I don't remember it being advertised as a high amperage USB connector.) The connector is a little longer than me it would like to have sticks. quite a bit in my car (see photos) but it goes high enough to leave my "tray" available for actual use where the old Y-hub I had taken it entirely. I like it. So far, so good. (Note: The second phone was removed while the unit was off, so the LED indicator showing the 12V voltage level is off.)
