My 18mo old likes to try to use markers and crayons but eats them. This mat has water makers and brushes that she can use on the mat. She sucks on the markers and its okay because its just water. The roller came apart right away but there are plenty of stamps, stencils and writing utensils to use. The mat his thick and watwe doesn't soak through. The box has several grammar mistakes or unusual word choices. Consider this if you are giving this as a gift.
