I confess I bought this device with some skepticism. I have lots of facial hair. A LOT OF. My facial hair ranges from fluffy to a full beard style mustache with black and white hair. The device is definitely more effective on finer and darker hair; coarser hair is a bit more difficult to manage, but it seems to be effective on coarser/lighter hair too - it just takes a little more work with that hair. My first treatment focused on particularly dull black hair and 12 days post treatment it hasn't come back. Hair that slips out easily when plucked doesn't seem to come back or much thinner. Normally I could shave every day, full upper lip, chin and neck (I told you, lots of facial hair). At the moment I haven't shaved my upper lip in 4 days and there is only a small area on my chin right on the chin that needs attention. Now I used this machine diligently every day, breaking sections into small sections, very small sections not much larger than the diameter of the machine head. I also find it helpful to wait a few minutes after treating a particular area before attempting to pluck coarser hair. Overall the device seems to be quite effective, if not completely eliminating then at least reducing my facial hair.
