I placed all 4 instruments on a known flat surface and 3 of them gave erroneous readings, randomly showing a bubble from end to end. I checked for minor flaws on the underside to make sure it wasn't something simple like dust or plastic protrusions, but no flaws were found. I rotated them 180 degrees and the readings randomly changed to the same 3. One worked and stayed true. Then I noticed that the plastic tubes holding the bladder were broken on 3 random occasions. I could have the bubble glued to one end or the other as if the tube were bent, not with a peak in the middle but at each end, like a "u". While it was minor, it was enough to get her to make false statements. The one that worked is beautiful, easy to read and a good size.
