In a sense that's 5 stars. However, in others they are 1 star. I think it depends on what's more important to you, whether you like them or not and how you use them. They fit easily in a variety of bowls. I liked not using plastic wrap. The silicone will expand, so you'd better choose one that's a little smaller than the bowl. They don't come off easily and keep my ingredients fresh. The first time I used them I put them on a bowl of cucumber salad. Two days later I washed it and put it with the others. A few days later I went to one and it smelled like cucumbers. Hm? It wasn't even the one I used. I pulled them all down and sniffed. Everyone smelled like cucumber salad. I washed them. Without change. Soak in baking soda. Without change. Left them in the California sun with baking soda. Without change. Place them in a charcoal container. Without change. I can use them on pickles or stronger smelling things like Indian food and they won't be a problem. I think then they will smell like Indian food. If you're using them for things that are virtually odorless, they'll be great. If you use them on similar foods - let's say any spicy foods with a similar flavor - they'll be great. If you want to use them in different products, you might not like them.
