I read it was best to buy one size up. My 5y old girl is tall for her age, she wears 6-6x and starting to wear size 7 jeans (weights 45-50 lbs). I bought this pajamas size 7 for her and it was a great fit, she will have a little room to grow. I washed it once but didn't care to put in the drier as it is 100% cotton, so I didn't run the risk to shrink, but that's how I treat all my 100% cotton items. I also bought a zebra pj for myself and she LOVED we were both wearing zebra, I surprised her on a weekend trip and it was a win-win!
