Review on πŸ’‘ Westinghouse #66402 5 1/4" Wall Bracket/Outlet: Efficient Solution for Your Electrical Installation by Eric Budd

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor production

Bought two because they were cheap and solved the problem of socket availability and safety. I was looking forward to installing them, they reminded me of the light fixture my grandfather had in the bathroom. The first installation dealing with wired connections throughout was a pain. I pushed them from all sides and tried to slide them under the base without damaging it. The base is not very strong, rather thin. The lens cap fell off and survived, it's solid. I was about to install the second lamp assembly and noticed that the socket was not secured in the base. It was inserted in the back, not the front, so the only way to fix it would be to cut the wires and pull properly. I tried to get it back into the locked position but after 20 minutes I realized I shouldn't end up with a regular screwdriver in my leg. Apparently, no one checked the work, otherwise the problem would have arisen immediately. I'm sure there are more of these out there. So when you buy one, make sure the socket mounts are properly secured in the base. It was cheap, but this mistake cost me a lot of time. I bought a more expensive one just to compare. No, I wouldn't buy it again unless it comes as a half price kit.
