I bought Anova Sous VIde about a year ago and I really like it. You haven't lived until you've tried sous vide chicken breasts. Everything else is perfect too. Filet mignon is to die for. But since then I've been using ziplock bags I bought at the grocery store. Yes, I saw that even the manufacturer didn't recommend them for sous vide and read about all sorts of chemicals that get into food, but damn they were cheap and convenient. However, as I continued my sous vide journey, I started cooking vegetables as well. And you absolutely cannot do it in a store-bought package. Also, about 2 months ago one of my bags broke in the water so I finally gave up and started looking for vacuum sealers and there are loads of them. After reading reviews for two weeks I decided on two brands (there was no Food Saver either) and finally settled on Anova. This was partly because of brand loyalty and partly because Anova Sealant was made easy to seal. No wine bottle tube, no six buttons on top. Just a simple vacuum sealer and that's what I wanted. It also had a size advantage as it fit in the box I had for it. It's about the size of a wax paper box. I'm on my second week now and I'm loving it. We have a small household and I now seal any extra chickens etc that are included in the packages. If you've read Serious Eats, you know that you can simply pop some vacuum-packed frozen chicken breasts (or other meat) into a sous vide gas and simply give the timer 20 minutes more to cook. Comfort at its finest. If for any reason I change my mind I will update this post but for now this is a great machine for the price and I would highly recommend it.
