This product contains a small amount of metal shavings, which is cool in theory, but the environment where these shavings are located is thin and slightly cloudy. It's hard to control where the chips go, but a few coats will solve that problem. In the photo, the back of the glass ball has blue and red dots, so ignore that color. The iridescent nature of this particular "color" is beautiful, and the dark background helps to really feel the colors. If you run your finger over the shavings you can definitely feel the pieces. I haven't tried sealing them with caulk for this specific purpose (I painted from the opposite side), but I would definitely recommend doing so if your project allows.
