Review on Ballscrew Supports BF10 SFU1204 Support by Richard Alemayehu

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for precision applications.

First of all, I understand it's cheap and I didn't have high expectations. I bought 2 sets to use as support bearings for a dual Z axis on a large format 3D printer. They only carry about 1-2 kg. But having a noticeable rotation in the camps is ridiculous. You can visually observe the vibration. If you want precision, avoid these bearings. Pros: The overall finish looks good. There are no visible scratches or defects. All parts are there. External dimensions correspond to the type of part. Cons: The bearings are terrible. The inner ring is not concentric to the outer ring. I tested both ballscrews I purchased on a surface plate and found no visible runout. I mounted the bearings onto the ball screw and attached it to the frame with the drive motor and you can see the side to side movement. A steel ruler placed next to the propeller during movement shows noticeable movement of about 1-1.5mm.

Pros
  • Ball Screws
Cons
  • Very Expensive
