I received this MD model as a gift last Christmas and I like it for a number of reasons: 1.) It's solid yet compact. The new models I've seen don't seem to be as reliable as this model. 2.) I can make my own "mixed tapes" thousands of times because MDs can be re-recorded with no loss of sound quality. I can also take my favorite songs off CDs and put them on one CD instead of lugging around multiple CDs. 3.) I can record from any audio source. Download them from the Internet and create your own MD without having to invest in blank CDs. 4.) Batteries last forever, or seemingly forever. I listen on long trips (8+ hours) and rarely need a lot of extra batteries. 5.) It's so easy to use that I can use it. 6.) I've never had a problem with it. I even dropped it on the floor (accidentally) a few times and nothing was damaged inside or out. 7.) It's less bulky than a portable CD player. these are just a few above. I don't understand why more people don't own them.
