Review on 🧼 Advanced Contaminants Filtration: iSpring DF2 CHR by Kipp Amundson

Water definitely tastes better

Overall, my tap water tastes much better with this filter. The main reason for this is to remove chlorine. Chlorine is mainly responsible for the unpleasant taste. KDF-55 is a filter media that converts chlorine to chloride. It does not retain chlorine. Because of this, filters using KDF-55 last a while in terms of chlorine filtration. And they are effective. Remove other connections I'm fed up with. TDS meters only test for ALL dissolved solids, and fluoride is not included in this list. TDS meters do not record fluorine readings. And they only capture ALL dissolved solids, not what they are. So if you record tds before and after setting the filter, the number shown means nothing if you want to remove a single contaminant/compound. Because it doesn't just show you a connection. The filter uses activated alumina, which is used to filter fluorine. I'm just tired of whether there's enough activated alumina in there. Research has shown that to filter out almost all of the fluoride you need a 6 foot high activated alumina filter with a flow rate of 0.5 gpm. However, without a reverse osmosis system, this is the best. Overall my water tastes better but I give it 4 stars because it's plastic. I wish companies would stop calling things "chrome" when they're actually plastic.

Pros
  • Water Filter and Softener
Cons
  • Out of fashion
