The yolk also breaks
I bought this for one handed use after surgery thinking it would break the shell but keep the yolk intact. It did it a few times but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any magic that did it repeatedly. So if you don't mind broken yolks for, say, an omelet, then that's fine. If you need an intact yolk for poached eggs, separating egg whites, or anything else, then this isn't for you.
