I bought this to replace a Radio Shack weather warning radio that almost killed the speaker. This device was easy to set up. I went to the NOAA website as directed to determine the local weather station frequency and select a range. And I programmed the local districts and the alerts that I wanted to hear. The only thing I don't like is that the radio doesn't turn off the radio like my old one. The RadioShack version turns off playback when receiving end tones. This version will continue to be transmitted until the warning timeout expires. During the day when I'm awake and can turn the sound off, it's not a problem. However, when it works in the middle of the night, I have to get up and turn off the alarm manually. Also, I like the radio.
