As some people mention, Houdini's job is to pull the sheet over the mattress. I washed it once before using it and actually made a small tear trying to put it back on the mattress + support board. So I won't touch it anymore the sheet is made to go into the zip = locking mechanism so nothing can be pulled on it, there just isn't room. I MUST protect him by putting ammo under my burping baby. I have to somehow secure them underneath with secure diaper pins otherwise it's unsafe to lose anything underneath the baby. As a designer, I can suggest doing the zipper in sections - with some space and maybe hooks/bars in between - that way you can design the sheet securely enough. or maybe a mattress that has a layer that you can tuck a sheet under. Anyhow, the sheets should only be custom made for this crib - which is better than not having an option at all.
