After throwing my bed away, I wanted to start my life over with a minimalist approach. I was looking for a futon style mattress but something unique than a regular futon. I was browsing Amazon and really liked this retro style futon. I'm quite a tall guy: 6ft, 270lbs and I decided to buy a twin instead of a whole one. Not a bad decision at all. I remembered living on a Navy ship and we had bunks about the size of a twin. It helps me focus on sleeping on my back instead of moving in 200 different places during the night. The mattress is thick as advertised (I got lucky), but I have a theory based on other people's reviews: twin size is thicker than full/queen size. Perhaps reducing the padding for a larger futon is more cost-effective to make the subtle price difference more appealing? Photos shared by buyers prove that larger futons appear less thick than twins.
