Review on πŸ’‘ Segotep 1250W Fully Modular Power Supply with 80+ Gold Efficiency and 140mm Smart Fan for Enhanced Performance by Bridgette Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Don't let the price put you off, this is a great power supply.

TLDR: Buy this power supply. Great quality and won't let you down. Deserves 6 stars for value for money. Segotep has been around for a very, very long time. It's just that it hasn't been a bestseller in the US for a long time. When I bought my 750W in June 2020 it was $130. It's not cheap, but I've since seen it drop to $80 here and at another major computer hardware retailer, NE. So if you see it at a low price, be sure to buy it and don't think you're saving because this and other Segotep devices are very good quality. I was inspired to write this review during a storm this morning. My main 5900x and 6800 XT runs on this 750W Segotep PSU (along with MSI MEG x570 Ace Mobo, 6 x Corsair QL120 RGB fans, 1 x Cooler Master MF120 ARGB fan and Cooler Master Master Liquid ML 360 MIrror 360mm Liquid Cooler AIO The specs listed should be enough to show that this power supply can handle almost anything you want to do in your gaming/streaming/any rig with hardware currently available, with the only possible one Exception, the RTX 3090 with the same or better hardware, but I still think this PSU will handle it.Anyway, on my second rig I'm running an i7 6900k 8-core/16-thread CPU, RX Vega 56 8GB GPU, 6 UpHere fans 120mm ARGB 1800 rpm and PCCOOLER GI- D66A (very powerful ARGB air cooler with two 120mm fans rated at 230W TDP) This rig is equipped with an Apevia 700W White Essence power supply that's a bill ige but decent power supply without an 80+ rating. We had a fairly violent thunderstorm this morning which caused the e to turn on and off multiple times, two of those times flashing for at least 2 seconds if not a little longer. Both times the light went out for a few seconds, the 2nd setup with the cheap power supply went out but my Segotep 750w stayed alive as if nothing had happened. This is mainly because it's also a switching power supply (it also helps provide cleaner current with much less variance), but also a testament to how good it actually is and works as advertised. I promise I won't let you down. Everything I just said is very quiet, so much so that I can't hear it at all. The only thing I don't like are the cables. They don't have sleeves but are built into all black cables much like cable extensions, only a little thinner but without the "ketchup and mustard" cables so they still look clean. Personally, I prefer the black jacketed cables, but will happily trade them for the performance and protection this power supply offers. Full modularity also simplifies installation. The packaging is also very high quality, everything comes in a tight foam packaging and the power supply comes in a very nice fabric bag, which can also be used for other purposes after installing the power supply. The box is absolutely massive and larger than most GPU boxes to show how meticulous they are about ensuring that this power supply is displayed undamaged and in perfect condition. I liked this power supply so much I bought a second one for a 3800x system I built for a friend of mine when it was on sale for $80. This power supply is definitely in no way inferior to power supplies from other major brands, in some cases even superior. Segotep has replaced Corsair and Seasonic as my favorite high quality PSU brands for my PC build business. I've included a picture of my setup, although the shroud hides the power supply. The photo is before I added the 6700 XT and it already has the 5700 XT.
