I bought this because a bird was pecking at my window and was driving me crazy. I read online that they see their own reflection and try to fight the "other" bird. The privacy film blew my mind, so I'm satisfied. I don't know how to cut straight lines even with a ruler but the foil was very gentle which made it easy to apply. The hardest part was getting the back down. I just wet and caulked the window. I used a hard piece of plastic to push the bubbles out. I wish you could buy it in wider rolls because all my windows are wider than a roll. I think I could trim it differently but I didn't think about it so I had to add thin strips on the sides of each window. I still think it turned out well. And I didn't try to customize it or anything. If you don't look closely, I don't think you can tell. I think the pattern is irregular enough for it to work. Basically, even someone like me who doesn't like DIY can do it and make it look good. Rschunimagu
