Review on Conquer The Trail With ALTRA Women'S Lone Peak 6 Running Shoe by Jeanie Escobedo

Be careful. You need to train your feet to wear these

My husband suggested I try these because I am an ultra runner and my feet have been pretty abused. I have worn Brooks True Grit for the last 6 years and loved them. But I have developed a slight bit of neuropathy in one of my toes, so have been searching for more comfort. I have flat, narrow feet. I thought the larger toe box would provide ample room for my toes to splay, and therefore possibly help with my toe (it kind of rolls under when I run). I ran a total of 30 miles over the course of 6 runs in these on dirt trails with lots of hills. Due to the zero drop of this shoe, it created a brutally severe point of impact on the inside arch of my feet to the point where I developed severe pain that lasted for days. To rectify this, I had to wear my Brooks at all times, even at home, until the effects wore off. This shoe may be helpful to some, but I would not recommend if you have flat or narrow feet. I’m back to my Brooks and they are my all-time favorite shoe for hefty distances and lots of wear and tear.

Pros
  • THEY GIVE SPACE FOR YOUR TOES!!!!! NO MORE SMASHED PINKI TOE!!!!
Cons
  • The shoe may cause chafing due to its construction
