If you're looking to get into FPV drones, you might think that you need to spend money to "get a decent drone". I got one myself and found it scrap because it was a toy. Well, they aren't, and unless you start with toys, you won't be able to lift them off the ground, let alone keep them in the air. I've had a few drones and progressed to higher level riders but I can still appreciate them and I liked these ones. First, it's a simple starter kit. He has the quad himself, some extra screws and batteries. You should get a few more batteries because it's fun, you only get a few minutes of flight from each battery and if you don't have a few there isn't much practice until you have to wait to recharge them. Then you should spend some time practicing easy landings and takeoffs. You don't want to lift it up over your head for a while. Believe me. Although it has takeoff and landing assist, you'll lose control of it all too easily if you don't practice keeping it at hovering altitude first. Trust me, you can send this thing into a traffic jam, wall, or tree in no time. Don't fly in. Yes, you can use some help if you have a clean room, but chances are you'll slam it into a wall, fan, or ceiling and ruin everything. Otherwise, be aware that although this is a toy, it can cause a lot of damage. It won't cut off a finger, but it may hurt an animal or a small child. However, it's more than likely you can fly it into traffic (and even if it doesn't destroy the car, turning the car to avoid a collision can be very serious). It requires a certain level of maturity and adult supervision. Even as a grown man I'm tempted to do things I shouldn't and know I have a good idea of what my skill level is, a kid probably won't do it so spend time with them and let them not to they fly alone. If they do, go to an out-of-the-way place like the football field or the trail at your local high school. At least there, the worst that can happen is damaging it. Otherwise, you'll send it through the neighbors' yard and end up on their house. You can lift this thing 50 feet in the air in no time, much faster than you think. As the battery wears out, it slows down response and speed, but it's still easy to lose control. I've only used the Android version of the app, it works perfectly. You plug your phone into the controller and fly with it, and I don't know of any other quads that use this app (and you can't use Betaflight or anything like that with it). This is a complete set, but it isn't. something you can easily use with other tools or props or software. You can probably find other batteries that will work with it. I enjoyed it, even though it's an entry-level model, it's fun, you don't have to worry about everything and you have to be busy all the time. It has a lot of help to get started and is very responsive and fun. You will definitely love this ATV.
