GoPro original broken. The original parts are made of plastic and will deteriorate over time. I gradually replaced the broken ones with aluminum. This item is very well made, very accurate and closes the case perfectly. Haven't tested it underwater yet, but it closes tightly and I see no reason why it shouldn't be waterproof. The only gripe, which applies not only to this device but also to the design inherited from GoPro, is that the shutter is difficult to open at times. I think the original design could be improved by adding a protruding edge to make opening the cramped case easier.
