I tried to be "cheap" and use regular kitchen bags just to see if it could be done. It's really not feasible. Regular bags are too short and too baggy (pun!) and make for a messy look and fit, and if you've got kids, forget it. Things get shoved in well pasy what's prudent.Having decided that wouldn't work, I checked out the SH proprietary bags and boy are they proud of those things. I think it was something like $60+ for 120 bags.These bags have been the perfect in-between. They fit well, are reasonably priced, and check off all the boxes for my cat-proof double trash can. Recommend!
