I bought this OBD II to use with the Leaf Spy app (no longer free iPhone version). I buy a used Leaf and have found that when the car was sold at a dealer (even Nissan) the dealers know next to nothing about the car. The health of the battery is the most important factor and OBD II reports it as is, so I find this device to be of great help in saving me a lot of bucks right away. As a car buyer, I encountered male salespeople who thought I knew nothing about cars and tried to use that to their advantage. OBDII gives me data to use in negotiations and not get scammed. The pleasant surprise was that the first time I used it, I had to enter some data into the app (vehicle year, mileage, etc.). ). Now I've used it on 4 other different Leafs and all I have to do is plug it in and open the app and the car's mileage and year will be filled in automatically! No problem pairing with my iPhone X. Looking for a car I feel like I have a ghost in my purse because the OBD II is so small and tells the unvarnished truth (what a concept!). I wish you all the best, Merm.
