The first ingredient is chicken, but the pellets smell like fish right out of the pack. I did not find the smell disturbing after filling the bowl. We only have a kitten and 2 other cats. Everyone ate well but when I mixed it with their current meal they seemed to pick at the piece. The granules are really small and seem harder than other foods so I really don't know why. Even though they eat it. Maybe only one or two cats nibble on the food, but I haven't noticed that with other foods. The food is clearly made from healthy ingredients, but it's a little discouraging that my furballs don't seem to like this food. Taste.
