Review on 🌧️ Ultimate Protection in Style: Peak Design Black Shell Medium Form-Fitting Rain and Dust Cover by Jerry Mangum

Very cumbersome to handle (medium size with Fuji X-H1)

I'm a Peak Design fan and was looking for a rain cover to protect my camera when it's attached to my backpack. According to the description, this product is exactly what I was looking for. I bought a medium size for my Fuji X-H1. I only tested it with the 18-135 lens as all my other lenses are larger. The X-H1 at 18-135 is a fairly compact setup, but getting the cover on and off was very cumbersome. I was hoping I could just fold back the body of the cap and squeeze it over the lens barrel, but the material is too stiff and bulky. The material inside also sticks to the rubber eyecup cover and creates a lot of friction. So even though it's physically the right size and loose enough that it's still difficult to put on and take off. What I like most about the Capture Clip (the way I wear my camera on my backpack strap) is that it's very easy to access the camera and take a picture. Dealing with this cover is as inconvenient as storing a camera in my backpack and pulling it out every time I want to use it. I think it's mostly a matter of design intent. As if they weren't sure whether to leave it on the camera when shooting (which would explain the tight-fitting lens portion and lens hood) or take it off when shooting. that it is very convenient to access the camera and take a picture of it. Pros
  • Absolute security: Fully closing for safe storage of the camera.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
