I didn't originally plan to test multiple Carson scopes, but I did. I left out two of the three I tried and this is my favorite so far. The more powerful was, uh, more powerful, but the downside was that even at the lowest magnification, the magnification was so great that it was difficult to find that tiny thing you wanted to look at. In this case the low 20x magnification is ideal for finding small items you want to look at and once you've found them you can zoom in up to 60x. And 60x magnification isn't bad considering handheld magnifiers typically don't go beyond 10x magnification. There are a few minor things. The LED could have been brighter, and while the push button switch is a lot better than the lousy slide switch on the 20x keychain model, it obviously contributes to accidentally turning on the LED and draining the battery. I left the battery and scope in the original packaging, and the box itself was put in a small package. The battery was dead for two or three days when I picked it up to use. I don't think the LED normally uses that much battery power, so I think it should stay on.
