I was concentrating on finding the right size and didn't realize the lid appeared. It turns out that this lid falls into the pan, unlike mine, which rises from the edges. So this is fine for cakes and other flat products, but not at all suitable for glazed cakes! I have to look for the best option for them, and now that I've read reviews that the new Pyrex isn't as good as the old one, I'm tempted to look at Anchor Hocking or another brand.
