Review on Soldering Gun Tip with Weller RCT Technology for Effortless Rope Cutting by Mike Modesto

This tip works perfectly, it cuts polylines quickly and efficiently. Adjustment issues noted in other reviews , may be a problem for some, my Weller 8200 soldering iron is over 40 years old, for this option you need to bend the ends of the tips that go into the gun (before that, put lock nuts on the ends), the cutting tip is made of steel and is quite tricky to cut. A bench vice or bench vise should do the job. After bending, the locknuts won't come loose from the tip without straightening the ends, which is a lot harder than bending them. Right now I have the skill of the soldering iron lost. Perhaps newer versions have some sort of swivel nut that eliminates the kink. I called Weller to check but never got a reply.
