A good idea in principle, but the straps are too weak to easily close the edges of the bag. While the liners fit our cat's large litter box, they aren't as elegant. Instead, deep folds form at each end. This makes scooping more difficult than it otherwise would be. Bags (usually) stand up to scratches and shovels, but weak straps make closing, and especially carrying, a used bag a real challenge. Even if I drop the litter level below what I (or the cat) want a few days before switching to a new litter, the bag is always too heavy for the materials to be comfortably handled. With the new light fill, which is good but still heavy and much more expensive, these bags are quite cumbersome to use. Use the ties carefully or they will break! While I'm not at the point of just distributing them yet, I'm not sure where the labor savings lie. It seems to me that tossing old garbage straight into the garbage chute and cleaning the floor with a hose or in the shower would be as easy as wrestling with caulks and thin strings. Once they break, you're really in trouble!
