I bought this as a lightweight case to carry my drum machine (and power supply). I cut the foam myself, which turned out to be more of a chore than I expected (the foam is slightly less durable than the Pelican Pick-N-Pluck - still strong enough to protect my gear, but got a little extra flexibility). too MANY more problems). get a straight vertical cut). Probably due to the fact that I also cut it myself, the foam flies a little more than we would like. The outside of the case is sturdy, but it does flex a bit which means closing/fastening must be done either on a perfectly flat surface or with two hands. Bottom line: If you want the strength, versatility, and solid construction of a case from a well-known brand, buy a well-known brand. HOWEVER - I bought this case for about 40% of what I would pay for a comparable Pelican case and it suits my lightweight needs 100%. I wouldn't test it on an airplane, but I slide it in the back of a van. It's MUCH better than using the original packaging of my device (so cumbersome on stage) and I'd say it rivals cardboard + bubble wrap in terms of strength, but is more durable and much more attractive. It's not for every use and not for everyone, but I will definitely buy this case again. One more note: This is the second Casematix case I've bought; This type of closure (hinge, up-down) is MUCH stronger than the one that slides on the side. I just had to double check that it was the same brand. So. Not all of their products are created equal; Let the buyer be alert. This one is decent. Enjoy!
