I also have a much more accurate and expensive gauge from the same company. It has a spare probe that costs almost as much as this whole meter. Sure, it was nice to have that kind of precision, but I still found myself rounding, so I don't really need it. By this point I was already used to the time it took this very accurate counter to set the final reading. When I first started using this meter, it seemed that the device's final readings were almost instantaneous. Maybe I've been spoiled, or maybe it happens when the meter gets old, but now it seems to be taking a little longer for the meter to jump back. It still only takes a few seconds and I rarely wait even a full minute to take my final reading. I calibrate regularly, once a week or two. Sometimes I find that the meter hasn't changed much since it was calibrated and I don't need to do anything. On other occasions, after longer waits between calibrations, I've noticed a drift of 0.1 to 0.3, which isn't much at all for my purposes. Luckily, calibration is simple and easy, and all you need is a source of calibration fluid and a small beaker. I've given up using my more accurate gauge and instead of buying replacement sensors I just buy another of those gauges every few years. All gauges wear out over time, as it is the nature of a small glass bulb to slowly break down (which is why you need to recalibrate). In my situation it makes more sense to buy another one of those thin gauges with a fast response time rather than buying a new sensor for a more accurate gauge with a slower response time. They are all excellent gauges, very reliable but I ended up with less accuracy and faster response.
