When my son had to be a patriotic drummer in a school play. There was a suit in the closet that I could find to look at. So I dropped the white belt because I think it's more of an officer's designation. I had to purchase the 3 peak hat separately as it is not included with the costume. I also refrained from fake costume boots (boot covers). I took some of my son's older school uniform pants, turned them into underpants, and he wore long white socks with dark ankle boots. In general, the finished look was more in line with the drummer. But the costume itself was pretty cute. Also remember that the vest is actually sewn onto the jacket and not a separate garment. You will need a white t-shirt to wear underneath.
