Transparent to sound waves and light.
This material is different from anything I've used for speakers before. It feels "thick". This is a very nice exterior texture. The only downside is that you can easily see through it - instead of just seeing a fairly flat surface, you can easily see the wood and drivers. I have to assume this also means it's acoustically transparent too (okay). Maybe the transparency has something to do with the light color I chose as I've always used a dark brown or dark blue scrim in the past.
