These hooks definitely serve their purpose. I installed them to hang a heavy HDMI cable (the same thickness and weight as a heavy extension cord) and had no problems. They stick VERY well and I don't expect any issues with the line falling off or anything like that. **WARNING** These attachments may strip paint if you are not careful, especially if the sticky pad is left overnight (directions state it takes 24 hours for full adhesion). If you need to remove/reposition the fasteners I would recommend tapping them with a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the adhesive. Regardless, I haven't removed any of the stars because, honestly, you want them to stick as best as possible. Just something to note. All in all, this is a very simple, effective, and clean way to clean up loose cords around your home. Highly recommended.
