I really wanted to love this product and when I first used it it worked great. However, the second time I used it, I set it to the same time as the first time plus a minute, smelled like burning plastic, turned around and saw the flames in my microwave. Now the best way to use this may be to make short bursts of cooking, but that's not what the instructions say. So it was 4.5 minutes in the microwave. I have plastic containers that I easily microwave for 7 or 8 minutes. Maybe the hot bacon grease caught fire and was so hot it burned right through the plastic? In any case, this should never happen unless someone was extremely careless and left it on for 10 or 15 minutes. There are different types of plastic and this one probably wasn't suitable.
