This set of gel pens is ok but I don't like them as much as I was hoping. The best thing they have is that they are water soluble. only when you brush water over the paint with a slightly moistened brush does you see a metallic sheen. Simply applying the paint without water makes it thick, tacky and non-shiny. What I like least are the blunt ends. These are not round tips but square tips, making it very difficult to get into smaller spaces without smearing or getting out of line. They are suitable for use with water in larger freehand drawings. The water brush takes some of the original color, which is quite dark, and gives it a softer color and shine. This is a metallic look, not a shiny look. I haven't been able to use them in scrapbooking as I had hoped because they are so clumsy. They can be useful for coloring adults or young people with very large areas or freehand illustrations that you create yourself. I would not order these again.
