Review on Katadyn Hiker PRO Replacement Cartridge by David Garnic

Update: Added two stars for good customer service. I contacted Katadyn directly through their website with my complaint and they sent me a free replacement. Let's hope the problem was just a bad batch of cartridges. I'll update again as soon as I get a chance to see if the new replacement works better. I'm still afraid to rely on it. First feedback: I had the same problem as others here. The device stopped pumping after filtering less than 20 liters of clean running water. The Katadiene filter that came with my original unit has worked great for many years and countless liters, but apparently these replacement parts are rubbish. My group and I ended up 12 miles in a remote area with no filtering capability. Few experience. If you risk one of these replacement products, I definitely recommend bringing a backup plan with you. It sucks not being able to rely on your Katadin to actually work when you need it.
