My cats have a knack for flinging the scoopable litter off their paws and all over the floor. I was concerned that they would not like the texture of this mat on their paws, but they adjusted very quickly, and my floor stays much cleaner now--no more walking on kitty litter in my bare feet--ick. It is very simple to clean too; pick it up and pull the sides toward one-another so that the bottom layer curves down, there is an opening in the end that allows you to simply pour the trapped litter back into the litter box, or into the garbage. Simple to use, easy to clean, the cats adjusted to it quickly, and it works as advertised.
