I love everything about these headphones including: - Very nice sound performance - Excellent build quality - Very light weight - Minimal terminals (high comfort) - Very good isolation - USB DAC/DSP - great deal at only $20. Much less harsh sound than built-in sound. It's a nice touch when you're traveling with a laptop. The 7.1 DSP switch increases the soundstage by making the sound slightly thinner/less saturated. I usually turn it off. However, there is a glaring problem with the resulting set. The left channel is about 1.5 dB quieter than the right. There seems to be an absolute difference (more noticeable at lower volume). At minimum volume, the left ear is muted while the right ear continues to play sound. But at higher volumes it's still very noticeable and annoying. I switched cables and audio sources independently, it didn't matter. I suspect it has something to do with the wiring of the mic since the fault is on the same side as the mic, but I'm hoping for a faulty unit. I will replace and update the review accordingly. Update [03/24/19] Well a replacement has arrived and it seems to be working fine. No channel imbalance. It seems that this was an isolated case. Upgrade to 4 stars.
